RMCSE develop cricket from grassroots level

Young cricketers from the Home of Hope Khayelitsha Cricket Clinic and Samora Machell Cricket Club, sponsored by The Maurits van Nierop Foundation, participated at the Ryan Maron Cricket School of Excellence (RMCSE) clinics held from 9-12 July 2012. Students from the Khayelitsha CC and RMCSE, sponsored by Sportsmans Warehouse, Gunn & Moore and New Balance, were selected to play for the Western Province U/17B and U/13A teams at the National tournaments in December 2012.

Premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille, and Donald Grant, Head of Department of Education Western Cape were there to congratulate the boys and wish them luck for the upcoming season.

RMCSE, which was founded in 1998 and coached over 10 000 aspiring young cricketers, has been working with the Khayelitsha and Samora Machell cricket clubs for the past 10 years. The relationship involves supplying the clubs with clothing, equipment and food. Along with this, 20 boys from the club, as well as 4 of their coaches, regularly attend the RMCSE holiday clinics. Several of these young cricketers have been selected for various provincial youth teams representing Western Province.
