Reebok opened its first Fithub fitness store in South Africa

The first South African Reebok fitness store (called Fithub, with an emphasis on CrossFit products) opened its doors in Canal Walk Centre in Cape Town on the 4th of October. This is the fourth Reebok fitness store in the world. Since the first store focusing on a CrossFit range of products opened its doors in New York’s 5th Avenue, there has been a growing worldwide demand for these fitness stores.

The Canal Walk store is a showcase of Reebok as a fitness brand – and especially their close link to the growing Crossfit trend. Stocked with clothing, shoes and equipment that will appeal to gym goers of all persuasions and staffed by fitness and product experts capable of giving tips and advice to customers, the store has a clear message: this is for fitness fans.In addition to the Reebok Crossfit and other fitness products, the store design also features elements associated with CrossFit “boxes” - like hanging ropes, wooden display boxes etc.

There is already such a high demand for CrossFit shoes and clothing in South Africa that they had a waiting list for their  Reebok Nano CrossFit shoe before it arrived, says Reebok SA GM Bruce Joubert.  The wide toe box, strengthened upper which can withstand sliding up and down ropes, mid-foot support and flat, stable sole which offers plenty of flexibility, was specifically designed for Crossfit, but the bright colours and features appeal to a much wider fitness market.
