Laureus South Africa celebrates its 10th birthday

Many South African sport
stars gathered to congratulate the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation on its 10th
Brithday celebration on the 28th of November this year held at the
Sports Science Institute of South Africa in Cape Town.

Laureus welcomed its
newest ambassador, Cecil Afrika, the South African Sevens star, to its family
whilst Mike Horn, Schalk Burger, Bryan Habana, Shaun Pollock, Lucas Radebe,
Baby Jake Matlala, John Robbie, Natalie du Toit, Ilse Hayes, Chris Bertish,
Ernst van Dyk, Bridgette Hartley, Achmat Hussein and Ryan Sandes were amongs
the celebrities who celebrated with Laureus South Africa.

The name of the latest
Laureus-supported project, the Hout Bay Cycling Club in Cape Town, was
announced. The Hout Bay Cycling Club is based at James House, a club near the
Imizamo Yethu Community in Hout Bay. In March 2011 the club sent 17 riders to
the Argus Race where they performed well with four riders coming under 4h15min.

Since its creation,
Laureus South Africa, with the support of their country patron Discovery
Health, has funded sports-based projects around the country which have helped
to improve the lives of more than 11 000 children.
